Exposure Lands $10k Per Month Google AdWords Grant for National Nonprofit; Cuts Their Monthly Advertising Spending to $0

Situation

Little Hearts, Inc., a national nonprofit organization with headquarters in Cromwell, Connecticut, offers resources to aid families of children born with congenital heart defects. A long-time customer of Google Adwords, Google's pay-per-click platform, Little Hearts was becoming dependent on search engine traffic for their awareness-driving campaigns, but was struggling to find the funds to support the endeavor.

Approach

Exposure had a few ideas on how Little Hearts could increase traffic to the website, but knew that they had to find a way to support the initiatives that were already working well for the organization. They discovered the Google Grant program and Little Hearts immediately supported the idea.

Strategy

Exposure submitted an application for the Google Grant on behalf of Little Hearts, which formerly spent about $1,000 a month on advertisements through Google. In April of 2011, after only a brief application and campaign review process, Little Hearts and Exposure alike were excited to learn that the organization would be awarded a Google Grant.

Results

Lenore Cameron of Little Hearts commented that the organization is “thrilled to be given this grant – we look forward to increasing awareness about our services for families affected by CHD across the country. The grant will allow us to save a substantial amount of funds budgeted for advertisement and devote them elsewhere, and we feel optimistic that our advertising campaigns will help connect families to the resources we provide and to the network of support that they are looking for."
