(Meriden, Conn. – June 15, 2010) In tough economic times, when every dollar counts and marketing budgets are stretched to capacity, Web Solutions finds itself at the heart of economic recovery strategies for many Connecticut towns.
In the past year, the company has helped design and develop economic development web sites and strategies, for the cities of Hamden and Milford, and the town of Seymour, giving them much needed exposure while helping to maximize their marketing dollars.
Though each municipality is different, the sites share the goal of attracting new businesses and their employees as a means of building the tax base and spurring growth. To do so, each site gives visitors a visual tour of the city/town and provides all the necessary information on living and doing business in town.
“The challenge of developing a good economic development site is capturing each municipality’s unique personality and its impact on both people and businesses,” said Tom Barton, Web Solutions Principal. “With each of these sites we wanted to capture the essence of life because it is important that people see themselves living there. At the same time, businesses need to see the town’s “guts” – the infrastructure, accessibility, and competitive advantages.”
“Economic Development is a competitive business,” said Nancy Onofrio, Seymour Economic Development. “Our new web site is more reflective of the today and expands our ability to promote the towns and its attributes. It is undoubtedly one of our most powerful business tools and key to our economic strength.”
